Teen Court members visit capitol

Sixth Division Circuit Court staff and Teen Court (diversion program) recently toured the state Capitol. They visited with Gov. Asa Hutchinson and state Reps. Ken Ferguson and Vivian Flowers. The diversion program is a volunteer project for teens in grades nine-12 in Jefferson and Lincoln counties. It offers participants an opportunity to decide on real-life cases of first-time offenders and serve in the roles of prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, clerk, bailiff and jurors. To volunteer or for details, call Samarra Spears or Courtney Brentley at 541-5455. (Special to The Commercial)
