The deadline to file income tax returns for 2013 is Tuesday. The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration, Inc. VITA Center will be open for free income tax preparation Monday and Tuesday by appointment only. Details: Call 870-536-7274.
The VITA program provides free tax services to families who earn $51,567 per year or less. The VITA program was established in Pine Bluff to help residents receive the maximum tax credits and refunds allowable by law.
The Arkansas Community Organization (ACO), also provides the same free service by appointment only. Call 870-536-6300 to make an appointment. All tax preparation specialists are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service.
Persons needing help should bring:
•Social Security for yourself and your dependents;
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
•Your picture ID;
•W-2s for all jobs held in 2013;
•Form 1099s (1099-G, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, etc);
•Form 1098-T (tuition expenses);
•Form 1098 (Mortgage interest payment);
•Documentation of childcare expenses and childcare provider information (agency ID or SSN of the provider);
•If you are filing Married Joint both taxpayers need to be present;
•A voided check or deposit slip for direct deposit
