Synergy Grant applications available

Synergy Forum Inc. is now accepting applications for the 2017 Synergy Grants. Applications must be completed and received by Thursday, April 6.

Non-profit organizations in Jefferson County may contact Synergy Forum to request the grant application or for details. Registered non-profit organizations: IRS 501(c )(3) public charities, public schools, government agencies, and the hospital in Jefferson County are eligible to apply for grants that fund projects to benefit area residents.

Previously, grants were awarded in April and October. Grants will now be only awarded in April.

Created in 1985, Synergy Forum is an independent organization of women providing grants for Jefferson County non-profits to make a difference in the areas of the arts, education and social services. Grants generally range from $500 to $1,500, according to a news release.

In 2016, Synergy Forum funded grants totaling $20,773. Synergy’s funding comes only from the dues and contributions paid by each member of Synergy.
