The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced Tuesday it could not find “enough substantial evidence to prove any allegations of unethical conduct by Jackson State University” prior to the Tigers’ Nov. 2 football game against the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
According to the SWAC’s statement, the league was made aware on Nov. 8 of claims JSU acquired and watched UAPB practice film in preparation for the game, a 41-3 JSU win.
The league said its review of the situation “included an IT analysis provided by DVSport INC, both oral and written statements, written statements from both institutions, individual interviews, along with the consultation of legal counsel.”
The statement said the SWAC’s investigation is concluded, but the league reserves the right to review any additional information which may be presented later.
Jackson State will host Southern on Nov. 30 in the SWAC Championship Game.
