Little Rock police arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with two bank robberies on Monday — including one in Pine Bluff.
Authorities say the suspect, who has not been identified, is the man who robbed the Bank of Star City branch on East Harding Avenue at 2:43 p.m., then robbed a bank in North Little Rock about an hour and a half later.
“It was the same guy and we’re working with North Little Rock police and the FBI,” Pine Bluff Police Capt. Greg Shapiro said before Tuesday’s arrest. Later, Shapiro said Little Rock police had the suspect in custody.
In both cases, a black male presented a note to a teller that implied he had a weapon, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving.
The man was described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 185 pounds, and was wearing a distinctive white shirt, black pants, white shoes and a white hat. He fled the scene of both robberies in a black four-door car, possibly a Toyota or Mazda.
Shapiro said Pine Bluff police were in constant communication with Little Rock and North Little Rock police during the investigation. He added that the suspect has not yet been charged in connection with the Pine Bluff robbery.
