Support Lockett
Editor, The Commercial:
Patrick Lockett is seeking support as a candidate for Pine Bluff School District School Board, Zone 7.
For many years at New Community Baptist Church and in the Pine Bluff community, Mr. Lockett has been an activist for causes such as teaching youth to carry themselves as respectful young ladies and gentlemen.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
As a Little League coach, he also taught young boys to be good sports on and off the football field. I know that school board elections are also extremely important and make decisions about what and who we care about the most — our children.
As a grandparent to two students in the Pine Bluff School District, I know first-hand that parents want their voices heard and school boards should be pathways to executing what communities want to see from their districts.
Inspiring young people to be the best that they can be through the efforts of dedicated school board members who interact with the parents and community is very important to Mr. Lockett.
He will support academic programs and work passionately with other members of the board to hire excellent teachers, administrators and support staff, and support the superintendent’s vision for the district. Those who serve on a school board should have a deep commitment to community service, and as a pastor in the community that we love, his genuine desire is to make the existing educational system in Pine Bluff better.
Mr. Lockett also believes in community engagement and collaboration. He will prioritize setting up partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders and nonprofits to encourage collaboration and engagement as well as partner with local organizations to help provide mentorship and support for our amazing students.
Please support Patrick Lockett for Zone 7. Early voting began Oct. 21. For more information, please email me, his wife, Sister Janice Lockett at p123atthecross@yahoo.com.
