Kelvin Gragg, superintendent of the Dumas School District, was recently recognized in an article in the Arkansas Association of Educational Administration.
“Lauded for his service and dedication to his various teaching and administrative positions in Monticello, Warren, Newport, Dermott, Crossett, Pine Bluff and Dumas, Mr. Gragg stressed that his favorite thing abouwt his involvement in education is developing relationships with young people,” according to a news release.
“He admits that he does not always remember their names when former students approach him, but he enjoys the many stories that they share along with their appreciation for the guidance that he gave to them,” according to a news release.
Gragg said, “There is no amount of money that can replace that feeling.”
Gragg wants to be remembered as the devoted husband to his wife;, a doting father to his two sons; and a faithful friend whose word is his bond, according to the release.
“The single proudest thing my wife and I have done is to raise two outstanding young men,” he said. “Each night, I thank God for placing my wife in my life and for blessing us with two young men who have done nothing but make us proud. The accolades I garner from my job are important to me professionally. However, nothing compares to the family God has given me.”
