RISON — Mutton Bustin’ is one of the fun rodeo events for kids, which will be featured during the Summer Showdown Rodeo on Aug. 24-25 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds at Rison.
The event will be for kids up to 6 years of age and weighing no more than 60 pounds. Each rider will receive a blue ribbon and the Mutton Bustin’ champion each night receives a trophy.
The second rodeo event for kids is a calf scramble. A ribbon is tied to the calf’s tail and the kids chase the calf, whoever gets the ribbon will win $25. There will two winners in each division both nights. Division one is for kids 6 and under, and Division two is for kids 7-12 .
The rodeo events for kids are held each night of the Summer Showdown Rodeo. Family and friends are invited to come out and cheer on the kids.
Concession and gate opens at 5 p.m. The events start at 7 p.m. with registration for Mutton Bustin’ at 6 each night.
