The White Hall Library, 300 Anderson Ave., will offer a summer reading program for pre-school through the sixth grade and events for teens in middle and high school during June and July.
Pre-registration for the summer storytime program will be held Tuesday. Activities are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, beginning June 5. The schedule:
First storytime, June 5;
Pajamarama – wear your pajamas and bring a stuffed cuddly animal, June 12;
Jazz Week – stories about jazz music, June 19;
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Red Carpet Week – walk the red carpet and dress what you dream about being, June 26;
Snow cone party – July 3;
Thriller – are you ready to be spooked by our scary stories? July 10; and
Celebrate our summer reading success, July 17.
No pre-registration is required for the free teen events, set for 1 p.m. on Thursdays. The schedule:
June 7 – Hunger Games competition, costumes are optional;
June 14 – Make-your-own-food class, ingredients provided;
June 21 – Art of Tim Burton workshop, supplies provided;
June 28 – In the Shadows of the Vampyre murder mystery, with participants playing detective;
July 5 – Zombie event, makeup provided, participants bring costumes;
July 12 – CSI with officer Richard Davies; and
July 19 – T-shirt bleaching and grand prize drawings, participants bring a bright or dark color T-shirt.
