Nursing students from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff participated in Nurses Day at the Capitol 2025 in Little Rock.
A kickoff breakfast and lunch were held at The Hall in downtown Little Rock, according to a news release.
Nurses Day at the Capitol is an annual event where nurses from across the state come together to advocate for policies that support the nursing profession and improve patient care. It’s a chance for nurses and nursing students to make their voices heard and influence legislation that directly affects their work, according to the Arkansas Nurses Association website.
The event featured:
Legislative Briefing: Nurses and nursing students attended educational sessions to learn about current health care issues, understand the legislative process and develop effective advocacy strategies.

Advocacy Training: Participants were provided with tools and techniques to communicate their concerns and priorities to lawmakers.
Meetings with Legislators: Nurses and nursing students met with their elected officials to discuss important issues such as safe staffing, workplace violence, pay equity and access to quality health care.
Networking Opportunities: Opportunities are provided for nurses and nursing students to connect with colleagues, share experiences and build relationships.
