Student attends research, engineering program

Kialandrea Kilpatrick, a senior at Pine Bluff High School, participated in the 2015 Research and Engineering Apprenticeship Program at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff.

She was chosen for the six-week apprenticeship, which ended July 17 and was held under the mentorship of Grant Wanjala Wangila, Ph.D., interim chair and professor of chemistry for the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Kilpatrick is the daughter of Alandrea C. Minor and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan K. Minor Sr.

REAP, managed by the Academy of Applied Science, is an Army Educational Outreach Program. The program matches talented students from groups historically under-represented and underserved in science, technology, engineering and math in summer research apprenticeships.
