MALVERN – Thursday at approximately 8 p.m., staff at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit in Malvern observed inmate Danta Sullivan jump from the third tier of his housing area.
Responding correctional officers and medical staff began emergency treatment.
Inmate Sullivan was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Arkansas State Police was immediately notified and will be conducting an investigation. The Department of Correction will also be conducting an internal investigation.
