Damar Reed is now a Greyhound. The senior point guard from Star City High School signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Chris Parker at Mid-South Community College in West Memphis.
Reed has been the starting point guard for the Bulldogs the past two years and also was the team’s captain. He was selected as an All –State and All-Conference player this season and was All-Conference selection last season.
Reed averaged 12 points, four assists, four rebounds, and two steals per game this past season. He also took 29 charges.
The most selfless play in basketball,” Star City coach Josh Brown said. “You give up your body for that one possession, to get that one extra possession for the team.”
Reed said he feels Mid-South has a good future ahead of it.

“It is an up-and-coming college and I want make history there,” he said. “I can make an immediate impact by bringing a positive attitude to the basketball team.”
Reed said he can bring the attributes he learned from Brown to Mid-South.
“I learned to be a positive player and have a positive influence because that attitude will get you where you want to go,” he said. “I would like to thank my family for supporting me throughout my life. I really want to thank my mother for everything she did for me in her time here. I know that she is very happy and proud for me.”
Brown stated that he is very proud to see one of his players gone on and continue his basketball career.
“Three percent of all seniors in the nation get to play college basketball, at any level, and Damar gets the opportunity to do just that,” he said. “He has been a leader for our program and has worked very hard to get to this point in his basketball career.”
