Star City Council on Monday gave final approval for Lively Realty Co. to build a 24 unit, two-story apartment complex on what is currently a parking lot and grassy area near the Star City Inn and Suites on U.S. 425.
The council unanimously approved an ordinance to re-zone the property from commercial 1 to residential 3.
Aldermen C.B. Leonard, Tim Drake, and Eddie Beard were not present, but Mayor Gene Yarbrough rounded out the required quorum and case a vote for the re-zoning. (Beard arrived later at the meeting.)
