St. Joseph Catholic Church, 412 W. Sixth Ave., will have the Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Walnut Street parking lot. The blessing is done in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, known as the patron saint of animals and the environment.
Noel “Bud” Bryant, a deacon, will conduct the service. Catholic Daughters will provide refreshments for pets, owners and guests. Holy cards and medals will be distributed and two door prizes will be given away.Everyone is invited.
