Spring is quickly approaching, but winter-like conditions made a cameo for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s Spring Fling community event Saturday at Saracen Landing. The celebration closed UAPB’s yearlong sesquicentennial, marking the 150th anniversary of the school that was founded as Branch Normal College in 1873. Visitors stayed fed with grilled hot dogs and entertained with live music from members of the Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South, among other things. (Pine Bluff Commercial/I.C. Murrell)
