Arkansas State, Auburn to play in 2013
JONESBORO — Arkansas State football running back Michael Dyer and coach Gus Malzahn will take on their former team, Auburn, on the road on Sept. 7, 2013.
Arkansas State announced the addition to the 2013 schedule Tuesday. Auburn, which won the 2010 national championship with Malzahn as the offensive coordinator, is the second announced nonconference opponent for that season; the Red Wolves will play at Memphis that season as well.
It will be the third meeting between A-State and Auburn. The contract for the 2013 meeting calls for a $1.1-million guarantee, the largest in A-State history. A-State received $1 million for playing Auburn in 2010 and Virginia Tech last year, but will only get $950,000 from opening the 2012 season at Oregon.
