Lady Lions falls in first round to Lady Tigers
IRONDALE, Ala. — Jackson State held the Arkansas-Pine Bluff softball team scoreless through six innings and won the first-round SWAC tournament game 5-2 on Thursday.
UAPB scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but was already behind by five runs. Amanda Nordberg took the loss as she gave up five runs on eight hits in six innings while walking three and striking out three.
UAPB still has a chance to work its way through the bracket and plays Alabama State at 6 p.m. today in an elimination game.
ASU coach Malzahn going on speaking tour

JONESBORO — Arkansas State football coach Gus Malzahn will make 14 different stops in Arkansas’ cities from May 15-17, including a stop in Pine Bluff, to talk about the ASU football team.
Malzahn will be in Pine Bluff at 11 a.m. on Thursday to speak at Harbor Oaks Golf Club.
