Jefferson Regional Medical Center and affiliates of Lifepoint Health will celebrate the grand opening of Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital, a 76-bed rehabilitation and behavioral health hospital in White Hall, with a community open house and ribbon cutting ceremony.
The celebration will be held at the specialty hospital, 1500 W. Holland Ave., beginning with a program at 10 a.m. Thursday. The open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. and tours will be available, according to a news release.
Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital houses a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility and 36 behavioral health beds. The 87,000 square foot facility replaces and increases the number of existing acute rehabilitation and behavioral health beds previously available at Jefferson Regional, according to the release.
Hospital officials and community leaders will give brief remarks and a ceremonial ribbon cutting and community open house will also be held Thursday.

Participants will include Mary Daggett, chief executive officer of Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital; Brian Thomas, president and CEO of JRMC; and Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation and Lifepoint Behavioral Health.
The specialty hospital’s two sections features the following services:
INPATIENT REHABILITATION
40 acute inpatient rehabilitation private rooms;
Secured acquired brain injury unit with private dining and therapy gym;
Transitional living apartment, designed to simulate daily tasks prior to discharge home;
Therapy gymnasiums outfitted with the latest technology in therapy devices;
Specialty programs dedicated to neuro, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputation.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
36-bed distinct behavioral health unit;
12 beds dedicated to geriatric care;
24/7 assessment, intake and crisis care;
Substance use treatment as a co-occurring disorder;
Evidence-based inpatient and outpatient levels of care.
