Special Olympics plans fundraisers

Special Olympics Arkansas invites the community to participate in the Polar Bear 5-k run/walk and the Polar Plunge Saturday, Jan. 28.

The events will raise money for Area Nine Special Olympics, which provides organized sports activities for athletes with special needs in Jefferson, Lincoln, Grant, Arkansas and Perry counties.

The 5-k run/walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. Jan. 28 and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. at Regional Park.

The Polar Plunge allows participants to take a dip in Lake Langhofer at Regional Park. The Polar Plunge registration begins at 1 p.m. and the plunge begins at 2 p.m.
