A shooting victim was undergoing surgery for life-threatening wounds at press time Thursday night after an incident on the 3100 block of Miramar Drive.
Police were not releasing the identity of the victim pending the notification of next of kin, said Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Capt. Greg Shapiro.
Police were called to the scene at 9:43 p.m. Thursday for reports that someone had been shot. The victim was transported by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center and was undergoing surgery at about 11:30 p.m.
Shapiro said police have developed a person of interest in the case but they were not ready to release that person’s identity to the public late Thursday night or formally identify the person as a suspect.
