The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of electronic equipment from three churches along Highway 365, north of White Hall, according to Major Lafayette Woods Jr.
Woods said a burglary alarm at Oak Grove Baptist Church at 53112 Dollarway Road was activated at 5:53 a.m. Friday. Deputies immediately responded.
A little over an hour later, an alarm was sounded at South Kearney Baptist Church at 1900 Highway 365 South.
While enroute to the that location, a deputy saw an open door at Cherry Hill Assembly of God Church at 1414 Highway 365 North and discovered it had been burglarized as well.
Woods said there were no immediate suspects. Anyone who witnessed unusual activity or vehicles in the areas of the churches is asked to contact the sheriff’s office or MECA on their respective non-emergency numbers, 870-541-5496 or 870-541-5300.
