Tobias Prall made eight 3-point baskets and scored a season-high 34 points Monday in Southeast Arkansas College’s 90-80 men’s basketball win over North Arkansas College at H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Prall topped his previous high of 26 points, which he scored last Thursday at Arkansas State University-Newport. The New Jersey guard’s 10 made field goals and 8 treys were also season highs.

Jalen Brown scored 27 points (including the team’s only other 3-pointer) to aid the Sharks (9-1, 3-0 in Region 2), who have won 5 straight in their first season of competition. Derek Magwood also dropped in 14 points.

SEARK scored at least 90 points for the fifth time this season and first since beating Dallas College Mountain View 105-98 on Nov. 22. The Sharks led 38-35 at halftime Monday.

Izaak Porter and Nicholas Huff each scored 19 points and Jaxon Berry scored 17 for Harrison-based North Arkansas, which made 9 of 14 free throws. SEARK made 23 of 28 free throws.

WOMEN: SEARK 66, North Arkansas 62

Earlier Monday, Patience Johnson came away with a breakaway steal and scored with about 50 seconds to pad SEARK’s lead to 3, and the Sharks hit free throws down the stretch for a 66-62 win.

SEARK’s defense forced North Arkansas into a tough 3-point attempt that was no good before the Sharks closed out the win at the line.

Johnson scored 7 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, Amethyst Price led with 15 points and Za’Nyah LeFear finished with 13 points for the Sharks (5-3, 1-1 in Region 2), who overcame a 26-point, 13-rebound effort by North Arkansas’ Sydney Standridge.

Kyndal Rooks nearly gave the Pioneers (5-4, 1-1) a second double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

SEARK’s teams will play at Arkansas State Mid-South in West Memphis on Thursday, starting with the women’s game at 5:30 p.m.
