Several presidents could relate to movie “Boyhood”

Editor, The Commercial:

The movie “Boyhood” is about a young boy who grew up in a small town with dignity and self-respect. However, there are several U.S. presidents who grew up in small towns across the United States.

Franklin Roosevelt was born and raised in Hyde Park, New York. Harry S Truman was born in Lamar, Missouri, which also was the town where he grew up. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas, but was raised in Abilene, Kansas.

Jimmy Carter was born and raised in Plains, Georgia. Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico but grew up in Dixon, Illinois. Bill Clinton was born in Hope but grew up in Hot Springs.

Even Mike Huckabee was also born and raised in Hope. Robert Dole was born and raised in Russell, Kansas.

These men who were all born in small towns could relate to the movie “Boyhood.” Even of those eight, six grew up in a small town which raised them to be U.S. presidents.
