Southeast Arkansas College will tip off its inaugural season of men’s and women’s basketball Nov. 1 with home games against Champion Christian College of Hot Springs.
SEARK has released its basketball schedule, but where the Sharks will play their home games remains to be determined. Athletic director and men’s basketball Coach Chad Kline said the school is “getting close” to finalizing a home venue. SEARK officials have sought to finalize a home venue after determining the floor at the Relyance Bank Athletic Complex, where they practice, is not conducive to safely hosting regulation games due to the hardness and smaller-than-regulation size of the floor.
SEARK will play 12 games before the Christmas break, including six at home. Among the dates for the men are a Jan. 20 meeting at Hot Springs’ National Park College, which won the NJCAA Division II championship last season, and the Feb. 20 rematch in Pine Bluff.
The final game of the 2024 portion of the season will be Dec. 16 at Baton Rouge Prep, and the season will resume Jan. 6 at home against Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (UA Phillips).
SEARK will compete in Region II of Division II, which includes Arkansas State University Mid-South, Arkansas State University-Newport, Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (UA Cossatot), National Park, North Arkansas College, UA Phillips, Shorter College, South Arkansas College and Southern Arkansas University Tech.
