The Southeast Arkansas Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its annual chili meal fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building, 211 W. Third Ave.
“If you have ever eaten Red Cross chili, you will always go back for more. We like to have our customers come back year after year,” said Bettye Johnson, public affairs.
“Don’t miss out this year as you only get one chance a year to eat great chili. It’s a good way to treat your employees as we deliver. Make it a chili Friday and help your Red Cross chapter,” she said.
The meal will include chili, crackers, dessert and a drink for $7. The meal will be dine-in or drive-through.
Delivery will be available for orders of 10 or more with 1 hour advance notice.

Nationally American Red Cross disaster workers respond to about 70,000 disasters annually, ranging from single-family house fires to hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. Locally the chapter responds to more than 200 fire-related disasters each year and stands ready to respond to disasters, such as tornadoes, windstorms, ice storms and floods statewide.
Strong partnerships with city, county and state emergency management officials, local churches and other relief organizations ensure that the community and state’s disaster response network is strong. The demand for experienced responders is great. It is a challenge to meet this need, a need the Red Cross has successfully faced for more than 100 years in Southeast Arkansas.
