School set registration, schedule pickups

With the first day of the 2012-2013 school year a couple of weeks away, several Jefferson County schools have announced plans for registration, schedule pick up or other events. School starts Aug. 20 for students at Pine Bluff, Dollarway, Watson Chapel and White Hall school districts. Here is a roundup of information from some schools. For schools not listed, contact the school where your child will attend.

Pine Bluff

The Pine Bluff School District has already began fall registration for kindergarten through middle school students. Students can register weekdays throughout the summer.

Parents or guardians enrolling their children in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade will need to bring proof of residency (such as a utility bill), the student’s original birth certificate or a certified copy of the birth certificate, current immunization record, and Social Security card, a spokesman said.

Parents will also need to bring the Student Enrollment Form, Health Form and Family and Personal Information Form, which they should have received from the district. (Parents of Pre-K students will also need to bring the Income Base Sheet.) New students to the district enrolling in second through 12th grade will need to have a Social Security card; a withdrawal form, final grades or last report card; and proof of residency.

All parents or guardians are asked to attend with their children. School begins Aug. 20. Details: Call 543-4301.

Also, Jack Robey’s second annual back-to-school blast will be held at the school from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. The event will include food and games. Parents and students are invited to attend.
