LITTLE ROCK — A college scholarship has been created in honor of House Parliamentarian Tim Massanelli, House Speaker Robert S. Moore Jr., D-Arkansas City, announced Wednesday.
The Tim Massanelli Endowed Scholarship for Political Science will provide assistance for any education-related expenses of students pursuing a degree in political science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
House members and friends of Massanelli created the scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is yet to be determined.
Massanelli has served as House parliamentarian since 1973. He took a leave of absence for health reasons last year but was back in the job on a part-time basis during this year’s fiscal session.
“Tim’s charismatic personality combined with his love for public service has earned him recognition both state and nationwide,” Moore said in a news release.
