The last section of the walking trail around Lake Saracen is set for completion in the spring, the Civic Auditorium Complex and Advertising and Tourist Promotion commissions heard at their monthly joint meeting Wednesday.
Convention Center Visitors Bureau Director Greg Gustek gave updates on the trail and other tourism-oriented projects.
The splash pad near Saracen Landing will have a grand opening Memorial Day weekend.
Gustek said the Enchanted Land of Lights and Legends attracted record numbers of visitors, donations, sponsors and displays.
Pine Bluff Convention Center and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Bob Purvis said there is a crew working at Taylor Field and that there will be a test of a generator this weekend. He said that the commission applied for $2 million to get transient docks on the Arkansas River.
Purvis said the Plaza Hotel wants to use the convention center to bring in entertainers. He said that the Plaza Hotel is progressing with owner Robert Webster improving its service.
