Salvation Army reports 150 angels still not adopted

The Salvation Army reported Tuesday that there are still about 150 angels that have not been adopted off Angel Trees at their five locations.

Trees are located at the Pines Mall, the Donald W. Reynolds Community Service Center, Wal Mart, Relyance Bank on Poplar Street and in White Hall.

“With our deadline for gifts to be returned on Dec. 9, if we have angels that are not returned, there is a possibility that children will go unadopted this year for Christmas,” Salvation Army Lt. Stephanie Hargis said. “It is our hope that we see every child adopted off the tree so that on Christmas day, the children will have something under their tree.”

Hargis also said, “I am incredibly thankful for those who have helped us out by sending us monies earmarked for Christmas, or taking a tag off of the Angel Tree and providing gifts for the needy in this community. We are thoroughly appreciative.”
