The Salvation Army of Pine Bluff will host its 2018 Community Christmas Kickoff at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Simmons Bank in downtown Pine Bluff.
The event will include an announcement of the season’s Red Kettle Community Goal and a presentation of the Angel Tree program. The Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts to local children who otherwise might not receive presents, according to a news release.
Simmons Bank will present a check for $7,500 to Salvation Army Captains Chwight and Janai Olige.
The event is open to the community and will feature live choir performances of Christmas songs, according to the release.
