The first meeting for 2017-18 of the Salvation Army Auxiliary will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the fellowship room at the Salvation Army, 501 E. 12th Ave.
New officers are: DeDe Foster, president; Linda Eifling, vice president; Dianne West, secretary; Delois Kelley, treasurer; and Lt. Stephanie Hargis, corps representative.
Members of the membership committee are Detra Maxwell, chairwoman; Warner Turner, co-chairman; Shirley Word, Joyce Johnson and West. The members of the nominating committee are Maxwell, chairwoman; and Linda Murray, finance chairwoman; Eva Marie Pearson, publicity chairwoman; Eunita Seals and Joyce Davis, both members-at-large; and Hargis, corps representative. Murray and Kelley make up the finance committee. Turner is chairwoman of the yearbook committee.
Linda Minyard is chairwoman of the Christmas committee and will discuss the auxiliary members’ responsibilities during the upcoming holiday season.
Visitors and prospective members are always welcome, according to a spokesman for the group.
Dues are $10 annually and can be paid at the meeting. Anyone interested in supporting the work of the Salvation Army is invited to attend, the spokesman said. Monthly meetings are held throughout the year, except for the summer months, on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Salvation Army headquarters.
