The Arkansas Rural Health Partnership and Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield will announce news about a grant the partnership will receive.
The announcement will be made at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Ryburn Room of Simmons Bank, 501 S. Main St., at Pine Bluff.
The grant will be used to better connect rural south Arkansas hospitals so they can more effectively share patient records, improve communication and facilitate patient transfers between hospitals, according to a news release.
Participants at the presentation will include Mellie Bridewell, executive director of the Arkansas Rural Health Partnership (ARHP); Curtis Barnett, president and chief executive officer of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield; Chancellor Cam Patterson, M.D., of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; UAMS Provost and Chief Strategy Officer Stephanie Gardner; Phillip Gilmore, ARHP president and Ashley County Medical Center CEO; and Brian Thomas, ARHP vice president and Jefferson Regional Medical Center CEO.
