A second skill position player this week has announced his commitment to transfer to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

University of Louisiana at Monroe running back transfer Za’Marion Webber announced his commitment to UAPB on X, formerly Twitter, Friday.

The Franklin, La., native signed with ULM out of high school in 2023 but did not play for the Warhawks in his lone season in Monroe and has four years of eligibility.

The 6-foot, 185-pound back was rated as a two-star recruit out of high school by Rivals. He committed to ULM while current UAPB head coach Alonzo Hampton and offensive coordinator Tony Hull were on staff in Monroe, though both left before he arrived on campus.

He is the second transfer running back to commit to UAPB since the end of spring practice, joining Lindenwood sophomore Chris Gannaway.

The Golden Lions bring back leading rusher Johness Davis and rising sophomore BJ Curry from last year’s team but must replace departures Johnny Williams and Michael Jamerson. Webber and Gannaway join Tennessee Tech transfer OJ Ross, who participated in spring practice, as newcomers at the position. UAPB listed five running backs on its spring game roster.

Webber’s commitment comes days after that of Florida Atlantic wide receiver Donovan Giles. Like Webber, Giles did not play during his time with the Owls.

Webber is the sixth transfer commitment for UAPB since the end of spring practice. Hampton said after the spring game he wanted to add 15-20 more players before fall camp.
