In a brief meeting on Monday evening White Hall City Council approved the motion to again waive the rummage sale permit fees for the Founders Day Trade Day.
Trade Day will take place on August 4, 2012. White Hall Mayor Noel Foster noted that the Founders Day Pageant will be August 10-11, the Founders Day Golf Tournament will be held on August 18, and Founders Day is set for August 25. In other business the Council approved the resolution to levy the five-mill tax for the city of White Hall.
“I would like to emphasize that this is not a new tax,” said Mayor Foster.
The Council approved the finance report, as read, by clerk/treasurer Ellen Welch.
Foster said the annual Alva Domon fireworks display held recently at White Hall High School’s Bulldog Stadium was attended by about 5,000 people.

“It was a great success, and I would like to extend appreciation to the area merchants for their support of the event,” he said.
Foster noted that dirt work should begin in about two weeks for the second firehouse to be located at #5 Hospitality Lane.
