Robey, Chapel improve to 2-0

Romar Reades ran 61 yards for a touchdown, returned an interception 60 yards, and led Jack Robey to a 30-6 victory over North Little Rock on Thursday in freshman football action at Jordan Stadium.

Reades had eight carries for 115 yards to lead the Colts (2-0). Ladarius Skelton threw two touchdown passes — a 5-yarder to John Tate and a 15-yarder to Braylon Jones — and ran 6 yards for another score. Skelton also rushed for a pair of two-point conversions.

Roderick Bailey and DeAngelo Conner each recovered a fumble for Jack Robey.

In eighth-grade play, Jack Robey beat North Little Rock Ridgeroad 8-0. Ja’amonta Brock ran 1 yard on a quarterback draw for the touchdown, and Dalvin Smith rushed 11 times for 67 yards for the Colts.

Watson Chapel 46, North Pulaski 0

At Wildcat Stadium, the Wildcats (2-0) held the Falcons to minus-19 yards rushing and forced two turnovers in their River City Conference opener.

Trayvarious Cole ran 15 yards for the first touchdown and caught two touchdown passes from Simeon Blair. Cole ran for three two-point conversions.

Travion Woods had a 21-yard touchdown run and a conversion of his own.

Watson Chapel scored twice in the final minute of the first half. After Blair’s second TD pass to Cole with 51 seconds left, Corey Jackson returned a fumble for another TD with 10 seconds to go.

Michael Williams rushed 31 yards for Chapel’s last score, and Terrance Bradley ran in the conversion. The Wildcats totaled 295 yards of offense and held North Pulaski to 30 yards passing.

Hot Springs 22, White Hall 16

HOT SPRINGS — The Bulldogs’ comeback attempt came up short in a nonconference game.

Dylan Cantwell ran 15 yards for a touchdown to pull White Hall within 20-16 with Bailey Smith’s conversion, but Hot Springs scored a safety and stopped White Hall on its final possession for the win.

The Bulldogs (1-1) led 8-0 after Smith’s 2-yard run and Cantwell’s conversion. The Trojans then pulled within 8-6 and scored on the last play of the first half to go up 14-8.
