Diedre Young, a teacher at Ridgway Christian School at Pine Bluff, participated in a summer workshop focused on helping educators become more comfortable teaching about earthquakes.
Twenty teachers from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee participated in the event July 10-18.
The workshop, held at the University of Missouri at Columbia, Mo., was a joint venture of the Department of Geological Sciences and the Missouri University Science Education Center.
