Ridgway Christian School, 3201 Ridgway Road, will host a packing party from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 1, for Feed the Need.
Feed the Need is a missions-based event that provides funding for the school, more than 10,000 meals for hungry children in third-world countries and about 1,500 meals for local food banks.
At the event, Ridgway students will be packing, sealing and boxing thousands of meals.
“We believe one of the most rewarding benefits will be watching our students grasp the true meaning of missions and ministry,” a spokeswoman said.
Students, parents, educators, board members and people in the community have raised more than $39,000 so far.
“It has been an overwhelming and remarkable experience to have this city stand behind us and give so generously to support our school and this incredible fundraising campaign. We could not have done this without their donations and corporate sponsorships,” the spokeswoman said.
