The Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association members will read to kindergarten and first grade students at Southwood Elementary School, Tuesday, April 24.
As retired educators, the JCRTA supports reading literacy. Twenty-one retired teachers will participate.
“The instructional focus will be to encourage identifying the main idea and asking and answering questions about key details in a text,” according to a news release.
Princella Gardner is the JCRTA president and Sharon Fletcher is the community service coordinator.
