Republicans in Democrats’ clothes fool no one

There are presently three elected men in the Legislature who ran as Democrats. In a matter of weeks after being elected as Democrats they declared themselves as Republicans.

There is no doubt in my mind that all three knew at the time that they intended to do that. By the lie of omission they concealed their intent from the Democratic constituency that elected them.

Why would the voters of either party trust them now? Almost without exception they’re quoted as saying they’d done it “after much prayer!” Unless their real god is Ronald Reagan — does anyone think the God we were taught about would O.K. lying to the Democratic voters?

Now they say they were not given Chairmanships of Committees for doing that. How far are we supposed to trust men who’d lie to get elected? And why are we supposed to believe they’re not lying about that?

Exit polls show that 87 percent of Evangelicals voted for Donald Trump. He is openly the most venal, narcissistic and hate mongering person that the Republicans could have scraped from the bottom of the septic tank! Where is God’s voice telling them to do that? And why, if there’s a scrap of integrity among the three of them, do they put the stink on God for what they’ve done?

Your fundamentalist Governor is about to give you a fifty million dollar tax cut for low wage earners. Then he wants to raise taxes on the things we low income folks have to have or tend to buy because we’do not dwell in the rare atmosphere of the rich and well connected. And he and his cohort think we’re dumb enough not to see what he is doing to us!

And your hero, Torii Hunter, endorsed him. But then Torii is rich enough to run with the Republicans and too many are hero worshipers enough to admire him for it.!

Folks, color, wealth, fancy friends and fair weather friends are not going to salve your conscience when you realize that the ones qualified to lead are needed by us all. Not the fair weather friends who are neither qualified to lead nor trustworthy enough to fill those positions.
