Reported home invasion leads to assault allegations

A reported home invasion in the 2800 block of Pennsylvania Street in the early morning hours Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a woman who allegedly broke into a house and threatened two occupants.

Porcia Seal-Smith, 23, allegedly told police she did not break into the house and did not threaten anybody.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Jeremy Oswalt, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said a man and woman were asleep when they heard a noise and Seal-Smith broke in and allegedly attacked the woman.

According to the affidavit, the man was able to separate the two women and Seal-Smith allegedly went to her vehicle where she got a handgun and pointed it at the woman before leaving in the vehicle, a Dodge Charger.

Oswalt said in the affidavit that officers found the car and they found a handgun under the passenger seat after Seal-Smith gave them permission to search the car.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Seal-Smith after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with two counts of aggravated assault.

She was ordered to have no contact with the man or woman until the case is settled.

Seal-Smith said she would hire her own attorney.
