A reported domestic disturbance at an apartment on West 34th Avenue on June 22 led to the arrest of a man who allegedly kicked the door of the apartment open and slapped his girlfriend.
Jacquavius Ivey, 22, who has drug and weapons related charges pending, allegedly told police he did not kick the door open, and did not slap the woman, Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Temmiothy Johnson said in a probable cause affidavit presented in district court Tuesday.
Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said the incident occurred at 2611 W. 34th Ave., at 5:19 p.m., and when officers arrived, they found the door kicked in and the door frame broken.
The alleged victim said she and Ivey had argued, and when he left, she locked the door of the apartment. She said Ivey came back, kicked in the door, and slapped her in the face.
Ivey told police when he went back to the apartment, the door had already been kicked in.
Because of the pending charges, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 cash only bond for Ivey after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with residential burglary.
Ivey, who said he would hire his own attorney, was ordered to have no contact with the woman until the case is settled.
