A report of a possible fight in the Dollarway area Sunday resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly hit another man in the head with a large stick.
Mitchell Billingsley, 47, reportedly hit Billy Shawn Holbert, resulting in Holbert receiving multiple injuries.
Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said police reported that Holbert was bleeding from the head when they arrived at the scene, and Holbert also had a broken arm and severe bruising.
Detective Jeremy Funderburg reported that several witnesses told police they saw Billingsley standing over Holbert, who was on the ground.
Kizer said Billingsley had three prior felony convictions, and multiple failures to appear in court.
At Kizer’s request, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $50,000 bond for Billingsley after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with second-degree battery.
Kearney also ordered Billingsley to have no contact with Holbert, and to come back to court July 5.
