Regent welcomed at DAR meeting

The Pine Bluff-John McAlmont chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently attended the annual Wataseka District meeting. The event was hosted by the Col. David Love chapter in Monticello, according to a news release.

The meeting was in honor of the new State Regent of DAR, Charline Person Manning. Manning’s theme for the year is “Honoring Our Past, Supporting Our Present and Illuminating Our Future.”

As her inspiration, Manning also has chosen the verse from scripture, Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
