REDFIELD — Every municipal office up for election this year is contested by two candidates. Mayor Tony Lawhon, who is in the second year of a four-year term, faces a recall election Nov. 6.
Rita K. Jackson of 308 River Road, city recorder-treasurer seeking a third term, is facing a challenge from Beth Dial of 701 Quapaw Drive, wife of Alderman James Danny Dial.
The six aldermanic races in Redfield:
Glen Flemmons of 408 Arkansas 365 North is running against incumbent Dial for the Ward 1, Position 1, council seat;
Carol Eagle of 706 Honeysuckle Hills Court and Charles Derby of 904 Osage Drive filed for the Ward 1, Position 2, seat held by Alderman John Jones. Jones, the longest serving member of the council, did not seek re-election.

Alderman Brenda Carmical of 814 River Road, the Ward 2, Position 1, incumbent is being challenged by Sandra G. Garrett of 403 Rhoads, who currently holds the Ward 2, Position 2, council seat.
Larry O’Briant of 712 Schoolwood Cove and Roben K. Brooks of 100 N. Brodie St. filed for Garrett’s open Ward 2, Position 2, seat on the council.
Diann Smith of 1009 Eddie Lane and Deborah Houston of 1128 Ruby Drive filed for the Ward 3, Position 1, seat held by Alderman Barbara Werner, who did not seek re-election.
Alderman Darrell Hedden of 1209 Ruby Drive***, who is seeking re-election to the Ward 3, Position 2, council seat is opposed by Adell Newton of 1304 Kelly Court.
