The Arkansas Urban Forestry Council and Redfield Mayor Tony Lawhon will hold an Arkansas Arbor Day ceremony and Redfield ReLeaf tree giveaway at 11 a.m. Saturday at F.P. Baugh Park in Redfield.
AUFC holds an Arkansas ReLeaf project to assist a community in Arkansas each year by helping restore the tree canopy that has been damaged or lost.
Lawhon will read the Arbor Day Proclamation, and a tree will be planted in the park for Arbor Day. Additional state, regional and local representatives will be on hand to participate in the Arbor Day ceremony and Arkansas ReLeaf tree giveaway. Free hot dogs will be served and a mix of trees including yellow poplar, crape myrtle and several varieties of oak will be given out to area residents.
