Public can access SEARK meeting

The Southeast Arkansas College Board of Trustees will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday via Zoom. The public is invited to attend. To request Zoom access, contact Wanda Grimmett at wgrimmett@seark.edu.

UA student from White Hall honored

Kira Earnest of White Hall was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is among approximately 30,000 students welcomed each year to the nation’s oldest all-discipline collegiate honor society, according to a news release.

Arts fellowships open to applicants

The Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of Arkansas Heritage, is accepting applications for its 2021 Individual Artist Fellowship grant awards. The deadline to apply is April 16.

The $4,000 fellowships are awarded in three categories and enable up to nine artists to set aside time for creating their art and improving their skills. The categories this year are: Literary Arts: Poetry; Cinematic Arts: Director of Documentary or Narrative Films; and Visual Arts: Contemporary Crafts.

Snell Prosthetics & Orthotics honored

Snell Prosthetics & Orthotics is among 39 orthotics and prosthetics providers that recently received the 2020 Freedom Award.

“The annual award, presented by the Orthotic and Prosthetic Group of America (OPGA) recognizes O&P providers who deliver exceptional standards of care for military personnel,” according to a news release.

Snell has offices in Little Rock, Pine Bluff and other cities in Arkansas.
