A $10,000 bond was set Tuesday for a man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery after he was arrested for a second offense Sunday.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruing prosecutors have probable cause to charge Laquinton Moore, 29, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit presented in district court, police were called to an apartment in the 2600 block of South Olive Street, where Moore was allegedly involved in an altercation with a woman.
Moore allegedly told police that an argument started, and Moore allegedly said the woman was arguing and throwing things around the apartment. According to the police report, Moore had scratches on his body.
The woman allegedly told police she also received injuries and police reported seeing that part of her lip was busted, according to the affidavit.
Both Moore and the female were arrested and police records showed that Moore had a prior conviction on Oct. 13, 2011, making the arrest his second in a five-year period.
Moore, who said he would hire his own attorney, was told to have no contact with the woman until the case is settled.
