The Jefferson County Election Commission has immediate openings for five poll workers to work Tuesday’s election. Applicants must be registered voter of Jefferson County, be able to read and write the English language, not be a convicted felon, not be related to any candidate on the ballot in the second degree, or a paid campaign worker of any candidate or issue on the ballot.
Pay is $105, and the person will be assigned to a polling place in either Pine Bluff or the Jefferson Water Company. Hours are from about 6:45 am until after the polls close at 7:30 pm.
Anyone interested in the positions should call (870) 541-5475 after after 9 a.m. Persons calling early enough may be able to attend today’s 1 p.m. training class and be paid $25 for attending if they work on Tuesday.
