Pine Bluff police are looking for a male who they say fled from a scene where he reportedly shot an older, 33-year-old man Monday night.
The man who was shot flagged down an officer at about 11:17 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of East 24th Avenue, according to police. He reportedly was covered in blood with yellow duct tape wrapped around his left arm and told the officer he was standing in his yard when he noticed a younger Black male walking down the street.
The 33-year-old man told police he thought he recognized the younger male and shouted out “C.J.” The younger male reportedly became irate and said, “I ain’t C.J.”
The younger male reportedly punched the 33-year-old, who according to police punched back and knocked the younger man to the ground. The 33-year-old told police while the younger male was lying on the ground he pulled out a gun and shot the 33-year-old, then left the scene.
The 33-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment.
